Keep them coming revva ..nice to be able to gain further knowledge .. and in plain English too which makes it all easier to understand ..
YOU ARE A VOLVO 740.
You are not a classic at all.
You are overly practical and boring, and no one likes you.
You have the handling characteristics of a super tanker.
You have been known to have been out run by old women on mobility scooters.

The case for Heads up is simple. It's pure unadulterated drag racing.

The unpredictability of blown alky cars makes them far more difficult to run in DYO then any other car out there, making them a prime candidate for Heads up.
Personally I only like running Heads Up. When I step up to the line, regardless of the car and class, when all is is equal it's about who's built and drives the best on the day. :D

I don't know about blown alky cars being inconsistant, Look at the Scrap palace funny car, They should be racing SCO, They run within 100th of a sec each pass. Not that they are trying to do that. lol

Hi Revva, Having raced both DYO & Heads up with blown alky cars, I have developed a preference for heads up, that's all. DYO and Index definately have a place in the game to help level the playing field - no disagreement.

Re the cheque book comment, agree it can create issues, but I have also seen racers with fat cheque books and all the parts that should have added up to far more than they did. It's not just a bolt-on game, theres is high level of skill required to get the best out of what you can have.
Regardless, it's good to have them all out there racing - the more the merrier :)

I'd like to see it remain the same, HTL whether they choose Nitrous injection or Turbo's will bring a new element to the bracket that will appeal to a broader range of spectator, more spectators, more bums on seats.
Like Kevin McGregor said yesterday, "if they change the rules we'll just put a supercharger on it", & that family has plenty of Supercharged alcohol experience.
Leave it diverse, then the crowd have a choice to support a brand of race car as well as an individual.

Here's a link to Mike Moran's 6.01 secs at 250mph run with a big block and twin turbo deal. He's since run 5.97 during testing.

Nice run, but I think I like the blower cars better. They just dont look the same without a honking huge setup sticking out of the bonnet. The black car looked way cooler, and thats all that counts right????
