Kiwi v Aussie Drag Racing Test ?? lets get it on
hi there drag racing fans and supporters

since exstreamtv has joined dragster.com.au we have been inundated with positive supportive emails and fantastic feedback. a big thanks to you all.

it has got us thinking - how about setting up an event to pit the best of the aussies against the kiwis?

exstreamtv offers to live stream the event for no charge,so how about we start discussing what we CAN do collectively to pull this off ?

there must be many logistic type friends out there in the business of transport, flights, accomodation. etc
Why not think big here, there is an incredible amount of passionate and connected crew in the sport -

so let's harness this and promote a trans tasman comp or a state of origin.

so how about it ?

Sounds great to me nigel (although perhaps this post should also exist in the 'drag racing' section of the forum???)

It might be pertinent to point out that there is ZERO chance of getting a traditional 'wired' broadband link at Meremere. (I've been 'pushing' TeleCON to hurry up and install a DSLAM at Mercer, but it was still not available last time I checked).
Therefore, any 'live streaming' by ex-stream will need to either use a comparatively s-l-o-w 5.8GHz wireless link to Mt. Puketutu, a satellite up-link, or perhaps some other temporary point-to-point link. By comparison, the Taupo track has wired broadband available to be installed on demand.

I cannot comment on MMP / Ruapuna etc, but I'd strongly guess the other venues are more likely to have a decent bandwidth upstream path available.

For those 'interested' (probably only B1???), I've heard rumours that Hampton Downs (just down th road from Meremere) have been able to link in to the main trunk fiber, so I need to 'have a nice chat' with Tony.
The dictionary is FULL of words
The above post only contains a small selection of them.
Just be thankful that I chose to be selective
